Defense Health Agency: Perinatal Performance Information Project
This project provides the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Office of Chief Medical Officer at the DHA, and all Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) providing perinatal care with quarterly benchmarking reports comparing each facility's volume, utilization, case mix, quality and outcomes to civilian hospitals in the NPIC proprietary Perinatal Center Data Base (PCDB). In addition, we provide a series of specialty reports on selected topics designed to aid DHA monitor performance and demonstrate/improve quality of care within the MHS.

Maryland Patient Safety Center (MPSC) Perinatal Collaborative
The Maryland Patient Safety Center (MPSC) "Perinatal Collaborative" began an initiative in 2007 to test, adopt, and implement evidence-based improvement strategies to improve patient safety in the labor and delivery units of 33 hospitals in Maryland and the District of Columbia. The state-wide program was managed by the Delmarva Foundation in partnership with DHMH. The Perinatal Collaborative worked with the participating hospitals to develop multidisciplinary teams to improve team communication, staff competency, the orientation and training process, and adequate fetal monitoring. » Learn More
Premier Perinatal Safety Initiative (PPSI)
American Excess Insurance Exchange, RRG (AEIX) is a hospital owned and controlled excess professional liability company managed by the Premier Insurance Management Services, Inc. (PIMS) a subsidiary of Premier, Inc. In 2008, AEIX began a Perinatal Safety Initiative (PSI) with a subset of 16 of its managed hospitals with the goal of improving patient safety and reducing risk exposure of the perinatal services at the participating hospitals. » Learn More
Rhode Island Department of Health: Trends in Prevention Indicators for Hospital Care in Rhode Island
The Rhode Island Department of Health contracted with NPIC (NPIC) to provide a trend report that would compare the hospital care provided in the state to national norms and provide background for later reports that would compare Rhode Island hospitals among themselves.
Using the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Patient Safety, Inpatient Quality and Prevention Indicator software and the state discharge abstract data set, NPIC compared the care provided to inpatients in hospitals in Rhode Island to national data during the six-year period (1999-2004). » Learn More
