Perinatal Performance Information Project
This project provides the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Office of Chief Medical Officer and all Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) providing perinatal care with quarterly benchmarking reports comparing each facility's volume, utilization, case mix, quality and outcomes to civilian hospitals in the NPIC proprietary Perinatal Center Data Base (PCDB). In addition, we provide a series of specialty reports on selected topics designed to aid DHA monitor performance and demonstrate/improve quality of care within the MHS.
This project was initiated in 2002 and supports the objectives of the DHA OB Challenge Project. The key data sets used for this Project are the Standard Inpatient Data Record (SIDR), the Standard Ambulatory Data Record (SADR), and the TRICARE Encounter Data-Institutional (TED-I) data set of purchased care services. All data extracted from these data sets are covered by a Data Use Agreement executed by NPIC and the TMA Privacy Office.
