Dr. Hasley attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and graduated cum laude in 1984. After residency at the Magee Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, he did private practice in Pittsburgh for over 20 years. After a stint with E&C Medical Intelligence (now Perigen), He joined the Department of OB/GYN/RS at Magee in 2008. While at UPMC, Dr. Hasley worked on various HIT projects, including the build and roll-out of Cerner Maternity to all UPMC OB facilities. In 2016, Dr. Hasley began working for ACOG in the capacity of a consultant CMIO. He was the lead on the Birth Registry project, and also worked to translate ACOG clinical guidelines into executable code sets, using the BPMN modeling language. He has served on the Board of Logical Health, and has spoken and presented at numerous informatics meetings. He is board certified in both OBGYN and Clinical Informatics.
