Ms. Henrikson has served on the Board of the National Perinatal Information Center since 2009. She presently works for The Joint Commission as a Hospital Nurse Surveyor with a focus on women’s and children’s specialty hospitals. Prior to joining The Joint Commission, she served as the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer of St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center in Frisco, CO. Previous to her position with St. Anthony’s she was the Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Carondelet St. Joseph Hospital in Tucson, AZ and the Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns in San Diego, CA.

Ms. Henrikson has served as a member of the Editorial Board and as a Reviewer for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Nursing for Women’s Health and the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing professional publications. She has held board positions at both the district and national levels for AWHONN, and served as its national president in 2002. In addition, she is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She served on the American Hospital Association Committee for Performance Improvement.

Ms. Henrikson was the Vice President and President for the Council of Women and Infants Specialty Hospitals from 2009 to 2011. She is also an accomplished author and national speaker. Ms. Henrikson received her BSN from Montana State University and a MN in maternal-infant nursing from the University of Washington in Seattle. In 1981, she received her nurse practitioner certificate from the Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. She is certified in Executive Nursing Practice.
