Dr. Fry has served on the Board of the National Perinatal Information Center since 2013. Dr. Fry, a neonatal intensive care specialist by training, has over 15 years of experience in the design and development of enterprise clinical information systems for the Department of Defense. With a particular interest in cognitive science and workflow optimization, Dr. Fry was the Principle Investigator for numerous research initiatives in Clinical Decision Support (CDS), the original architect for the Military Health System’s Nationwide Health Information Network program during 2008-2009, and the Technical Director for the Department of Defense Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record demonstrations in San Diego, 2010. Dr. Fry retired from the US Navy in 2012, and is co-founder/Chief Executive Officer at Cognitive Medical Systems. Cognitive specializes in standards-based solutions for clinical workflow, decision support, and legacy system integration challenges.
