Continuing Education Programs
Throughout the year, NPIC/QAS offers a variety of Continuing Education programs. The Perinatal Nursing Contact Hour Programs are approved by the Rhode Island State Nurses Association. The Rhode Island State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
Women & Infants Hospital is accredited by the Rhode Island Medical Society to sponsor intrastate continuing education for physicians. Women & Infants Hospital designates this online educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Perinatal continuing education programs are offered free of charge to staff of NPIC/QAS member hospitals and Military Treatment Facilities and offered for $25.00 per continuing education program to non NPIC/QAS members.

Nurse Advisory Group
The NPIC/QAS Nurse Advisory Group, initiated in December, 2009, is composed of nurses with maternal/child expertise. This highly specialized group of nurses brings together perinatal nurse leaders/researchers to advise NPIC/QAS on potential continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and research opportunities. »View Members of this Group
