CORE MEASURE SERVICES

NPIC/QAS has met the criteria for inclusion in the accreditation process and is included on The Joint Commission's list of acceptable ORYX® vendors. NPIC/QAS is committed to meeting future required criteria established by The Joint Commission and is approved to transmit data for the Perinatal Care (PC) core measure set.

Did You Know
Hospitals with 300 or more live births per year are required to submit the Perinatal Care (PC) Measure Set to The Joint Commission for accreditation.


Perinatal Care (PC) Measures


The measures require some data variables not generally available in the administrative data set. NPIC/QAS provides a web-based data collection tool for abstraction of maternal and neonatal information from the medical record.

Reporting Requirements For Hospitals

All Joint Commission accredited hospitals with 300 or more births per year are required to collect data and report on all five measures in the PC core measure set.

PC-01   Elective Delivery
PC-02   Cesarean Section
PC-03   Antenatal Steroids
PC-04   Health Care-Associated Bloodstream Infections in Newborns
PC-05   Exclusive Breast Milk Feeding
