TEAM PERFORMANCE PLUS (TPP™)

NPIC/QAS was the data partner for the Harvard Risk Management Strategies Foundation Team Performance Plus (TPP™) team training program. Team Performance Plus (TPP™) is a comprehensive program—by clinicians, for clinicians—that provides interdisciplinary team training, for obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and anesthesia providers to: ensure safer deliveries, reduce the occurrence of preventable errors, and minimize litigation exposure.

A key component in marking the success of TPP™ is the ability to demonstrate change through the analysis of the 10 quality indicators and calculation of the Adverse Outcome Index (AOI), Weighted Adverse Outcome Score (WAOS) and Severity Index (SI).

All hospitals that participated in the TPP™ program submitted data to NPIC/QAS for the calculation of the AOI, WAOS and SI.  Baseline and on-going quarterly monitoring reports tracked adverse events before and after team training. In addition, TPP™ hospitals received a one-year complimentary NPIC/QAS membership with their TPP™ contract.

Hospitals not involved with TPP™ have the option of receiving Adverse Outcome Index (AOI) Services with or without NPIC/QAS membership.
